    Eight minutes east on I-80

    Personal Trainer in Reno, NV

You leave the Reno Arch behind, cross the Truckee River on I-80 east, and eight minutes later you are standing on a scanner that tells you what your body is actually doing. Not what it weighs. What it is made of. That is where every program at Results Transformation Center starts, and it is the reason adults over 40 from Reno make the short drive to Sparks.

    The shift workers

Reno runs on shifts. So do we.

Reno is a town that does not sleep in the way other towns do. The casino floors run twenty-four hours, and the people who work them run swing, graveyard, and day shifts on a rotating schedule. A gym that opens at nine and closes at five is not built for them. We open at 5:00 AM Monday through Thursday and close at 8:00 PM. That window covers the graveyard-to-day handoff and the day-to-swing handoff. Your coach holds your program so a flipped schedule does not reset you to zero.

The scan is the starting point, not a contract. You walk in, get measured in sixty seconds, and walk out knowing your biological age, your skeletal muscle mass, and your visceral fat. Free. No credit card, no obligation to train. For a fifty-five-year-old dealer who has been on their feet for thirty years, that number is the thing that tells you whether the legs that carry you through a shift are still carrying muscle or quietly losing it.

The big-box on the Reno strip

Reno has gyms. None of them scan you.

Reno has big-box gyms on every major strip. You badge in, walk a treadmill, and leave. Nobody scans you. Nobody knows your name. Nobody can tell you whether the weight you are losing is fat or muscle, because the bathroom scale does not distinguish between the two. For someone in their fifties in Reno, that distinction is the whole conversation. The eight-minute drive east on I-80 to a personal trainer in Sparks who starts with the scan is the difference between a gym that measures you and a gym that does not.

    Questions from Reno

    Reno residents ask.

How far is the Sparks studio from downtown Reno?

About eight to ten minutes off-peak. Take I-80 east from downtown Reno, exit at Greenbrae Drive, turn right at the light, and the studio is the second building on the left in the business park. At the 5 PM commute it is closer to sixteen minutes because the I-80 and Greenbrae interchange backs up. Free parking right outside the door.

I work casino shifts in Reno. Can I train around my schedule?

Several of our members work swing or graveyard shifts on the Reno strip. The 5 AM to 8 AM window Monday through Thursday is built for people who need to train before a day shift or after a graveyard. Your coach holds your program so a missed week from a schedule flip does not reset you to zero. The scan is the starting point, not a contract.

I live in the older Reno neighborhoods near the river. Is the scan safe for someone my age?

The scan is safe for anyone. It is a sixty-second body composition measurement, not a workout, and it does not require you to lift anything or change clothes. If you are in your sixties or seventies and live in one of the older Reno neighborhoods near the Truckee River, the scan tells you exactly how much skeletal muscle you are carrying — one of the strongest predictors of independence and fall risk. The program that follows is coach-led and built around what the scan shows. If you are on a GLP-1, see our dedicated page on protecting muscle while on it.
